Like so many quilt bloggers I follow, my
resolutions/goals/hopes for 2019 are pretty much the same: lose weight, walk more, use my stash,
etc. Because I want to keep things as
simple as possible in the quilting realm, I’ve decided to just focus on finishing more quilt projects than I start.
I’m off to a good start. Here is my first finish of 2019. It is English paper pieced hexagons using a
design by Edyta Sitar from her book, Handfuls of Scraps. I elected not to do the applique border and
my hexies are slightly smaller than those called for in the pattern. It measures approximately 55 X 59 inches. I started it in July 2016, so it took me 2 ½ years
to complete.
Finishes 1,
starts 0! (Also, I’m working on the
binding for a small wall quilt.)
it looks great! glad to see you finished it - I don't bother with resolutions I never carry them out anyway
ReplyDeleteWow, double wow....that one is one mighty amazing beautiful quilt! Be very proud of this one, girl. It doesn't need anything else. Off to a great year.
ReplyDeleteI think an applique border would have taken away the glory of the magnificent piecing. Wow, that is an accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! I bet it sleeps great...
ReplyDeleteI am SO impressed...Good for you...It is just lovely
ReplyDeleteI did that last year except for one quilt that took a few months! York Lodge. It was great to get caught up. Now to catch up on my 3 left over applique projects! I love your Hexagon quilt. I was going to make it but it still sits in the box!!!! May never get finished!
ReplyDeleteI have lost 21 pounds and of course continue my daily walk. That is most important. I just wish I had 5 more hours of energy each day to do more!
Have a great week- I hear we are getting some Canadian air this coming week-end and it will be colder! I love the cold. Take care and enjoy catching up. I made a list that is for 2 years for 2019 and 2020. I hope I finish a lot more! Of course my applique projects (3) will continue on thru the year.
