...'tis the Season

…and the Season certainly has caught up with me.  I thought I would be celebrating the completion of Civil War Chronicles as a flimsy, but alas, as I was posting this photo I discovered that two opposing borders were flipped and the corner design doesn't line up properly.  No big deal.  It's...only...108 inches...to rip out and resew...twice.   I think it would be a really good idea if I set this one aside for a couple of days and concentrate on the joy of the season.  Then I'll carve out some time to plop an audio book in the mp3 player, shut out all distractions, and  deal with fixing the mistake.

It is still a very beautiful mistake.
That's a lot of stitches to unsew.
I would offer to help but I'm a across the big water , but that's a great idea about the audio book.

It sounds like you are taking it in stride even though it must be disappointing. I am always so excited about finishing up a quilt and then admiring it.

Why do we always discover these things AFTER we've sewn 'em down? Oh well... I've survived ripping stuff out before and I'm sure you will too! An audio book is a good way to tackle the job! I'll have to remember that...

Sounds like a good plan to fix the boo-boo. Bummer tho-I wish I know why we do this kind of thing it's not like we're new at this and yet it still happens, and I don't think it's because I'm in a hurry. I think it must be gnomes, bad ones.
Enjoy the season.
The quilt will be IS gorgeous.

This is a lovely quilt! I love the block designs and I think I may do something like this to use up my quilt scraps. Thank you for the photos. You are doing a wonderful job!

I did that on just one block in month ten and was bummed to have to fix that so I soooo sympathize with your plight!

You have the right idea, just step back, take a break and come back to it when your energy for it is renewed. And know that your are way ahead of some of us so you are in a really good place!!! My border blocks kit hasn't arrived yet but I look forward to joining you at that point!

First...I think YOU are BRAVE to even tackle this intricate/many pieces quilt. It's awesome! I feel for you making the mistake.

Some, might hit me over the head for what I am about to say...but, this is just my personality..

I think it is beee-U-tee-FULL even with the mistake. So, take some time away, at least a few weeks. If you put it on a bed or stand WAY back and look at it, the mistake "somewhat" disappears...well, I would leave it. But, that's me. =)

If you just can't stand it, at least you took enough time away and "rip-resew" might not be as painful.

If you were near me, I would most certainly help with the "rip-resew"

Merry Christmas!
