Our Quilt Club’s outgoing board members gathered for a last
meeting and luncheon this week. I
confess I am ready to hand over the responsibilities to my successor, though it
has been a very good experience to serve as an officer the last two years.
It has been a special joy to serve with our
outgoing president. She took the job on
very short notice when our president-elect was unexpectedly forced to
relocate. She served with humor, grace and
courage, all the qualities you would hope to have in a presiding officer.
Each of the outgoing board members was given
a small quilt. No two were alike. This is the one I received. She made it using the pattern from
the Karen Stone workshop we had earlier this year. I will treasure it.

I love the pattern and the colors in the quilt you received.
I just joined a guild a few months ago but appreciate those who do serve. I didn't feel ready for that yet, being a newbie! Pretty quilt!
Like AnnieO, I just joined a quilt a little earlier in the year (and haven't been to a meeting in months because of family commitments and travel). But I think I'd like to get more involved by serving ... maybe not as an officer yet, but perhaps on a committee. I appreciate all you who serve our guilds.
