We enjoyed an extended and very enjoyable Christmas this year. Christmas day was spent with neighbors. Our family Christmas happened a week later with the arrival of the grand kids and a Wisconsin brother-in-law. So, there was not much sewing or blog commenting time the last couple of weeks. This week, however, I actually have some “unsupervised” time in the house as Bob will be at the ranch with his hunting partner. I've got the humongous cutting table out and I’m hoping to indulge in some quality quilting time.
The wall quilt I posted about last week now has the flowers glued to it for applique. My specifically requested Christmas gift was a light box, which I pressed into service when constructing the blooms.
I am trying a hand applique technique I learned in a class last year. This will be a project that I can enjoy during those times I can’t get to my machine. I doubt it will be finished in time for Valentine’s Day for 2012, but maybe 2013?
Check out what other quilters are up to at Judy’s Design Wall Monday links.

Gorgeous! I love your flowers and the colors you're using.
Just love the blooms you are adding to your hearts! I have that runner on my NewFO challenge list, and since seeing yours I may have to rethink a cute way to do my blooms too - thanks for sharing!
the blooms on your heart wall quilt really add to it-very pretty.
Mary this is darling ... I'm really enchanted by your flowers. I hope you'll share a little more about how you created them! :)

Very pretty wall hanging. I love it
That wall hanging is beautiful. Is there a name and or maker for that pattern? I would be interested in making one, of course mine wouldn't have such pretty flowers. Thanks. Cinda
Such sweet flowers on this wall hanging. Hope you do find time to finish it in the next six weeks.

My Christmas wish was a light box too, which I got!! YEAH!!! Cute design, was this in a magazine recently? I think I tagged it to do someday as well!
Greetings fellow Texan. I just found our blog and have become a "FOLLOWER." Love the hearts project you're working on. The flowers are a great touch.
