This is what's currently on my design wall. It looks a little odd, doesn't it? This will be the background for a small wall quilt I will be working on during a machine applique class Saturday.
Here is a picture of the pattern and some of the other fabrics that were included in the kit.
One of the good things about taking a class is that it forces me to not only try new techniques, but also to use fabric choices I would never have opted for on my own. I’ve seen the class sample and know it looks very cute, but I would not have been brave enough to pick these fabrics.
I sometimes get stressed in quilt classes if I don't keep up with the other students. We’ll see how I do this time. The teacher is a friend, so it should be fun.
Be sure to check out what other quilters are working on today by checking the Design Wall Monday links at Patchwork Times.

What a fun project! Enjoy the class!
adorable, just relax and go at your own pace. If it isn't fun then take a break, but you are right classes force us to try new things!
I Love the pattern! Just the ticket to get over the winter doldrums.
I always tell my students that quilting is not a timed sport. Just go at your own pace, if other people are faster, so be it. You know what is comfortable for you.
Have fun in your class! I love all those little banners Judy designed. I would love to do one in a class to get me out of my rut.
I enjoy classes just to be with others. Please post a picture of your progress.
Totally adorable...and good for you taking the class and getting outside your comfort zone with these fabric colors!
that looks like a great quilt you'll have it just in time for spring!
Good for you... I look forward to seeing your finished project. I have a goal this year to try paper piecing... that is outside my comfort zone.
This looks so cute! Can't wait to see the rest!
The colours are so pretty and the pattern so cute. Enjoy your class!
