Starting 2015 with a Flimsy

We are in wait mode for our next round of company to arrive sometime later today, so I used the time to finish my ugly fabric challenge top.  The next step is to piece a backing from some fabric I've pulled from my stash.  Due to some family plans, I doubt this project will be finished in time for the January Quilt Club meeting when we were asked to bring whatever we made from the challenge fabric.  I would love to finish it by the end of February.

2014 was not all that productive a year for completing projects.  I know it’s unwise to compare, but the year-end summaries that have popped up on the blogs I follow blow me away.  Life permitting, I want to pick up the pace in 2015.  My goal with regard to my quilting is to have fun, and not to fret over its imperfections.

If I have a word for 2015, it’s “enough!”  …well, maybe not quite enough fabric.  :-)

This was ugly fabric? It is beautiful! So full of life and movement. It is not the number of quilts made, it is the enjoyment. And your big, big success this year was finishing up all the blocks for the Dear Jane. I would have quit long ago, and I am so proud to see you succeed with it.

You finished your cruise pieces and Dear Jane. I thought you got a lot done along with all of the pouches you made for the service project.

I love your quilty start to 2015. It turned out so fabulous! Like Debbie says ... the number of quilts completed isn't what's important. Did you enjoy the quilts you worked on? And of course, working on a DJ will impact the number of quilts you will be able to complete. ;-)

I love the black in the quilt. It's pretty not Ugly! Hugs.
