Ugh!

I had such ambitious plans yesterday about making progress on quilting the ugly fabric challenge.  Then I flipped it over and saw part of the edge was folded over and stitched onto the backing.  Oh, well... So, I plopped myself down in front of my computer monitor and watched an episode of The Quilt Show while I did some frog stitching.

My amaryllis and red Christmas cactus are beginning to fade, but both are still in bloom.  I have really enjoyed them this season.  I had a friend in the Dallas area who re-planted the amaryllis bulbs in her flowerbeds.  That is somewhat problematic here as we have cloth mulch and I don't want to poke more holes in it.  I am thinking about sticking it in a pot outside this spring and seeing what happens.

Ugh is right. I love the work the seam ripper does but really don't want to use it as often as I do. ;)
Your flowers are gorgeous!

As long as you have a shady place outside to put your bulb in its pot it will be Ok. I only have sporadic luck in having them bloom again but I try for a couple years anyway. you are supposed to fertilize them twice in the summer and keep them watered, then bring in for the rest in darkness.

Oh, man I hate it when that happens....and I hate to rip too! I think it happens when we need to slow down or take a break. :)
those bulbs have a mind of their own....I have some that come back but only bloom about every other year. Go figure.

Hate ripping out, but it's always worth it. Wish we had something blooming here.
