My Favorite Quilt

Every once in a while I do a quilt that just seems a little more special to me.  This is Stars for a New Day, which was a block of the month kit sponsored by The Quilt Show in 2009.  Several of my friends purchased the kit at the 2008 International Quilt Festival in Houston.  I think three of us finished it.  I knew I did not have the machine quilting skills to do it justice and paid a professional quilter to do the work for me.  She did a masterful job and I am very pleased with the results.  Every time I look at her work, I am inspired to keep practicing.   

The Texas Hill Country has had an extremely dry fall and we are already listed as being in a severe drought.  Last week we had our first shower in many weeks.  It was good to see water flowing through our rain chains.
